Reference Center The Center has a collection of more than 2,000 books in Chinese, 2,000 books in English and some 60 journals in both the Chinese and foreign languages. It has linked with the national and international library computer network and can search and query quickly both the Chinese and foreign language materials and thus provide a rich resource of information for teaching and research purposes. The Reference Center has two librarians. Computer Office The Computer Office provides services to both faculty and students in research and training. It has a VAW workstation and 15 Pentium based personal computers, all connected to the university computer network system. The Office has a variety of software and its SPSS 9.0 can provide a full range of service to the faculty and students in teaching and research. It is managed by a full-time technical person and assisted by two part-time staff members. Editorial Office of <<Market and Demographic Analysis>> The Journal of <<Market and Population Studies>> was first published in October 1994 as a quarterly journal until 1997 when it became a bi-monthly journal. A total of 25 issues had been published. Readers of this Journal include the theoretical and practical workers in population, statistics, aging issues, labour force, family planning and others. The objective of the Journal is to publish the highest academic quality papers covering important theoretical and practical developments in the population study of China. The Journal follows the rules and regulations of publication of the Chinese journals issued by the State News and Publication Agency so as to assure that the papers published are indexed and can be searched and evaluated. Areas covered in the Journal include general population studies, aging and related measures, labour force and human resource development, population and health, business demography, applied demography, family planning, the 2000 round population censuses, statistics and surveys, abstracts from the American Demograhics, book reviews, summary reports, academic changes, etc. Questions,comments to: rkyjs@pku.edu.cn
