The Application of the Index of Geoaccumulation to Evaluate Heavy Metal Pollution in Sediments in the Benxi Section of the Taizi River

Abstract:: Based on the principle of sedimentology and the environmental behavior characteristics of heavy metals,The Index of Geoaccumulation (Igeo) is used to evaluate heavy metal pollution in sediments in the Benxi section of the Taizi River.The results show that heavy metal pollution in the sediments are serious.The main heavy metal pollutions are copper,lead,zinc,cadmium and mercury.
